Hello Ladies!

Today I have a job for you! I want you to try out the "Next Blog" button on Bloggers Navbar. I have found at least 5 new blogs to follow simply by clicking on it. Sure, you may find quite a few blogs you don't like along the way, but you can always click that button again and skip them! It was well worth it for me and I am going to continue doing it. It would be kind of funny if one of the "Next Blog"s was Anabelle's or Miranda's!

Hello Ladies!

I figured it was time for another post. There is one thing I would like to say scream for you.

That is right m'dears it is time for......COOL WEATHER!!!! YEEEAAA-WHOOOO!
I am sooo happy that Summer is over. I mean I love Summer and all, but GOOD LORD IN HEAVEN DID IT HAVE TO BE SO HOT?!! I am talking 120 degree weather here folks!

Mom says that God is trying to make everyone in Texas happy. In the Summer we have HOT weather. In the Winter we have COLD weather. In the Spring and Autumn we have COOL weather. And then one day we will have a sunny day with no clouds. And then the next day there will be thunder, lighting, hail, winds, flooding, and tornados. Talk about a busy year!
It finally rained a few days ago and then right after about an hour of constant rain and 70 degree weather it stopped. And then the sun came out and it got about 90 degrees!

Now I am not a person who likes the cold, some people may even call me a  "Lizard" (picture in your head Mom snickering), but I do not like it to be so hot that you can't even take the trash out without sweating. And I hate it when we have no rain for weeks and weeks. Truthfully even with that rain a few days ago it still is no where near enough. We drove over the bridge that goes over the Trinity River (Boyd) and saw a sad sight. It was very low. The grass is all pretty much dead and even the trees look sad enough to just fall over at any minute. I can't wait until we get some more rain.

Now that I am done speaking of my Summer woes, back to the reason for this post, Autumn. We have a local produce store that we happen to love called "Dunn's Produce" if you live around these parts you may have heard of it or been to it. It is located in Boyd, Texas. We drove by it a little bit ago and noticed they have pumpkins for sale now! We love carving or painting pumpkins and Anabelle, Miranda, and I sure love the seeds we get from them. I will post some lovely pictures of the finished pumpkins (as well as our Halloween decor) when we get them done.

Funny Chickens

Hello!

We have not talked in awhile so I will tell you what has been going on. As you know we have a little black Australorp named Jade.She is smallest and not really liked by Bonnie and Julia (of course who is liked by them?).Well let me tell you this is very surprising! Julia was letting Jade follow her everywhere!I guess she was giving her a tour.Well Jade was all happy until Bonnie came over. You can guess what happened. PECK! Right on top of the head of poor little Jade. So as you can tell Julia may be warming up to her, but Bonnie is doing nothing of the sort!

September Update

Hello Ladies!

Sorry we were gone for a bit I had some work to do. I know that the site doesn't look any different yet, but I am almost finished and you'll see some changes soon. I thought that even though the September Update would be a little late I should go ahead a write it up so ya'll know what is going on.

Sadly our plants did not make it through the Summer heat, but Mom has many growing in her square foot garden. She has some nice looking melons out there right now that just popped up this morning. She did have some kale but our lovely chickens decided to dig it up. Mom wonders why they couldn't have dug up anything else because she loves kale and was looking forward to having some. To me it is really funny to see our Julia in the garden because she knows that she shouldn't be in there. Just the other day Mom saw her sitting in the dirt and began walking toward her to shoo her out. Well, little-miss Julia stood up and began running! She didn't stop until she was safely under the porch.

Now for a sadder topic. The heat here in Texas is often a bad thing, but when you put it together with the fact that we haven't had hardly any rain for quite a few months it becomes a very bad thing. Our duck Moe and our chickens Cher, Stevi, and Cyndi have all passed away. We have been missing them so much and we are going to try to never order baby chickens or ducks in the Summer. It is just to hot. They have had plenty of food and water, their cages and pens have been kept clean, and they have been happy. Now we only have one (not counting Julia) Australorp left. Mom has now re-named her since it seems kind of silly to have a Dianna Ross when there isn't a Stevi Nicks, Cyndi Lauper, or Cher to keep her company. Mom has named her Jade in honor of the Australorps beautiful green sheen.

I will create another post in just a moment with Moe's bath tub swimming videos in it. I kind of thought that you would want to see him since you didn't get to before.
