Our lovely canal house!

Hello Ladies!

As promised I am here to show you pictures of our canal house!

Now as you know we had to cancel our vacation to South Padre (see post below the next post for information on that problem) and re-route to Galveston. When we canceled our hotel rooms in South Padre we had to look for new ones in Galveston. But none of the hotel rooms that were big enough for our family were available. So we had to rent a beach house. This was a first for us, but it was very nice. We had this house all to ourselves.

We stayed at "Captain Jack's Canal House" and had a blast. All of the pictures below are pictures I took with my own camera, except the downstairs pictures and the first picture of the front of the house. I wasn't able to get a good picture of the front of the house, and I wasn't about to go stand in someone elses yard to get it. As for the downstairs there just wasn't enough time. I took all of these pictures on the day we left, so I was snapping pics in between packing bags!

Anyway, enough of my yammering. Feast your eyes on this!

Yeah I know it looks kinda small from this angle, but it's not. It is very roomy.

Here is the sign hanging in the upstairs living room. Cute!

This is part of the spacious upstairs Living Room. The chairs are very comfortable, and the decorations are gorgeous.

This is the massive TV which the guys went NUTS over. Picture this in your head ladies. The Southern Belles are sitting around the house, each doing their own thing. Reading, on the computer, fixing a snack in the kitchen, washing clothes, playing with the kids, all of that stuff. Now here it comes "WOW! HEY DUDE! DUDE! DID YOU SEE THAT PITCH? OH MY GOSH THAT WAS AWESOME! THAT COACH SURE KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING WHEN HE PUT HIM ON THE FIELD! WOW THAT WAS GREAT!" And if not that than this "OH NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! WHAT THE HECK IS HE DOING OUT THERE? THAT IS NOT EVEN PLAYING! YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO HIT THE BALL YOU IDIOT!" Oh yeah. That's right. That is what we put up with to go on a vacation. Yup. Next time I am requesting a house minus a TV. Though I guess that wouldn't work because the guys would start to bug us instead. I would also like to mention that almost all of those cabinets are available for storage use. There are also DVDs in the cabinets.

This is the couch in the Living Room. Sorry, the light kind of makes it hard to see. The chairs (2 pictures up) are right behind the couch. All of the couches and chairs are the same fabric. They are a really pretty looking dark brown. The most interesting thing about this house is the decoration consists of only three colors. Brown, Yellow, and Blue. Yet they were able to make it look so good. As you can see they also used some reds and creams as subtle colors, but still of the main colors their are only three. I think they did a smashingly-good job!
And this couch folds out into a Queen-sized matress!

This is another chair that is located beside the couch. I love the sea turtle decoration on the wall. It was very pretty and fit the house perfectly.

Another place I loved in the house. It just plain looked nice, and I loved the clock.

This is part of the Kitchen. The Kitchen is open right next to the Living Room.Remember this is all upstairs right now. The table seated six. Four chairs and one bench that will seat two. The bar top seats four. And don't forget the table in the picture above this one. That makes a total of ten seats, and that is not counting the couch, Living Room chairs, and the extra tables right outside the upstairs door. This is perfect for a large family. And once again I'd like to call your attention to the decorations. In this picture they are mostly little things, yet they fit well and bring it all together. There are two little pictures of seashells on one side of the window and a pretty white crane on the other. Also on the shelves in the kitchen is a beautiful blue vase. The color is gorgeous.

Here is a better view of the kitchen.

Here is the hallway in between the Living Room and Kitchen. We'll check that out in a minute. First I have some things to show you in the Kitchen.

Here is the oven.

The refrigerator/freezer. It has an Ice machine and a Water machine

Dishwasher.

Sink with Garbage Disposal.

Toaster and Coffee Maker.

Cabinet space.

More cabinet space.

And now down the hallway! First let's check out the Washroom.

 Here is the Washer.

And here is the Dryer.

More cabinet space in the Washroom

Extra Pillows in case they are needed.

Right across the hall from the washroom is the Bathroom. It is nicely spaced.

And now to the first Bedroom. It is right next door to the Bathroom.

Pretty huh? I love the happiness the yellow radiates! And it gives it a nice clean look. The comforters are the same in every room, but it is decorated so that each room has its own look.

Drawer stack next to the bed.

The stool in the bedroom.

I thought this picture was CUTE!

This was my room! I shared with Dana. It is right next to the other Bedroom I jus showed you.

The most comfortable bed in the world!

Great drawer space.

Closet space. Yes there are double shelves. And those hangers belong to the house and there are plenty.

I loved these pictures. These are my favorite decorations in the entire house! In fact I knew I had to have this room when I first walked in. I stepped inside and thought "Oh my gosh! This is amazing!" And then I walked right out to Mom and asked if I could have it.

"Our Ocean, cherish her beauty"

"Listen, as the rhythm of the waves sooth your soul"

And right across from my room? Mom and Rose shared this exquisite room.

Mom and Rose's TV. And yes they have a balcony out that door.

Oh look! And what might this be? A closet perhaps?

Voila! The Master Bathroom!

Gloriusly beautiful double sink.

Yes ladies, that would be a jacuzzi.

And if there is something wrong with you and you would rather take a shower than be in a jacuzzi, here is your shower.

Something every bathroom has to have.

And what are these other doors right next to the Bathroom doors? Could it be a small closet?

Well you are partially right. Just not so small.

Shelves.

Hang up space

More shelves.

And the last part of the upper floor. The deck.

Spacious picnic tables.

And a breathtaking view!

Stairs leads to upstairs. Door is for the garage which is not available for use. I think the people who own the house have their personal items in there. Go around the stairs and past the palm tree and you will get to the lower deck.

Downstairs table. Sorry about the mess. We were fishing, so there is a mosquito spray bottle, some sunscreen, a fish tackle box, and a bucket on the table.

Perfect place for fishin'

Pretty huh?
